About Keelan

I am 27 years old with a background in business and education. I completed my bachelor's at the University of Colorado Denver majoring in Business Management with an emphasis on Entrepreneurship; coursework included Career and Professional Development, Project Management, and Economics. After spending 5 years at a start-up I had a career change when I realized that I come alive in the classroom. This led to me attending Colorado Christian University where I received a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction and a license in Secondary Education. I worked at Lotus School for Excellence, in Aurora Colorado, as a 6th-grade English teacher where I created an English curriculum to serve a demographic of 37 different languages. I currently work at Reign Christian Academy as a Grammar school teacher (5th and 6th grade) where I teach Writing and Rhetoric, Literature, Grammar, Phonograms, Math, Science, History, Biblical Studies, and Art. I specialize in Reading, Writing, Oral Communication, and Math. I am excited to meet and help you in any way I can!

About the lesson

My number one super weapon is my love for kids and making learning intriguing. When you receive tutoring from me, you will also receive a tailored plan to fit your specific learning needs. Having worked in various educational environments, I can adapt and differentiate lessons to the individual. I follow the traditional gradual release model, beginning with the "I Do" where I introduce the student to the unknown concept, then the "We Do" where we approach the concept together, and ensure mastery through the "You Do" portion of the lesson. The model's simplicity makes room to customize lessons to the individual while ensuring mastery with fidelity. What truly makes my approach unique is my belief that wonder and common language are necessary ingredients to learning. I specialize in: -5th - 7th grade English I have experience in and can tutor: - 3rd - 8th grade English, Math, Social Studies, Biblical Studies, and Science - 9th - 12th grade English, Economics, Business, and Oration.
