About Alejo

I am an instructor of both guitar and music theory. I give individual or group classes according to the taste of my student, and I am also new to teaching. I can give you academic support, classes to learn from scratch, classes to improve what you have already learned, and preparation for admissions or exams. I teach classes from 8 years of age onwards.

About the lesson

I would start by playing simple melodies and at first it would be by ear and memory. My intention is not to teach sheet music unless my student asks me, at most, tablature. This is with the intention that my student does not get frustrated as soon as he or she takes his or her first classes. It is demotivating, and I can say from experience that learning to read in your first classes is frustrating. I would gradually teach important parts to know about the instrument and then start playing both melody and harmony. I would not describe myself as a teacher, I am more of an instructor. I do not have a teaching degree or any other pedagogical degree, only the one from my secondary school which is specialized in art. And as an instructor I am someone who expects my students to use logic, expects them to draw their own conclusions after giving them the tools. For example, if I teach how to play a song by ear, they should also try to play a song by ear, and it should become natural to them. My classes are aimed at beginners, people aged 8 and up, people who want to study music theory, people who just want to learn to play the instrument and people who are in the basic cycle of some higher education institution; especially tertiary institutions; from there on down in terms of educational level.
