About Madilyn

I first started playing violin at the age of 5 when I heard a violinist play at a symphony. I was star struck and began lessons right away. When I was 14, people in my church and school asked me if I could teach their kids violin. In high school I had 7 students and because of that rare opportunity, I went to college for music education. At Pensacola Christian College, I had the opportunity to teach private lessons, direct beginner orchestras and the high school orchestra. I fell in love with it and began teaching at the same academy that I interned (Pensacola Christian Academy) for 3 years. After that, my husband and I moved up here to Michigan and since then, I have picked up a few students from my church, as well as Genesee Christian School, where I am Director of the Elementary Strings Class. I also serve as the Director of the Middle School and High School Strings groups at Faith Baptist School in Davison, MI. My passion for teaching strings has only become stronger as the years go by. I’m so excited to get to know more students up here in Michigan!

About the lesson

During string lessons, students have the opportunity to learn how to sing and emote through their instrument. With fun prizes and rewards to motivate solid practice, lessons are always entertaining and rewarding. Students in my studio will learn how to explain what they are playing and learn steps to achieve successful practice. Yearly recitals are held to mark students’ achievements.
