About Félix
I did a double degree in Literature and Social Sciences coordinated by SciencesPo and Sorbonne Université des Lettres.
I have just finished my M1 Arts, littératures et langages at EHESS, course "Linguistics and writing" with an average of 16,75/20. I am continuing in M2, during the 2021-2022 academic year.
Having done a literary baccalaureate (specialising in mathematics) and being passionate about literature, I give courses at college, high school and higher education levels (licence). I have a good command of literary subjects, but I can also help in language (English, Spanish), or in other social science disciplines (sociology, political science, history).
Passionate about literature, I was also recognised for my writing style in 2017, having been awarded third place in the Poetry in Freedom competition.
In addition, I was also published in the journal Opium Philosophy in 2020 for my article on celebration entitled "Celebration and the atemporality of a modern catharsis."

I have always been passionate about issues related to language and communication, and I am currently studying for a master's degree in linguistics (2022-2022). I offer introductory/advanced courses in linguistics.
I can help undergraduate and graduate students (language/communication sciences, humanities) in understanding linguistic theories, but also anyone who wants to know more about the linguistic theories developed since Saussure.
I adapt my lessons to the needs of the student. The lessons I offer will differ, depending on whether the student is stuck on a particular theory or author, or whether they are looking to improve their writing/speaking skills.
Having taken many linguistics courses at undergraduate level, but especially at master's level, I can help in the different branches of linguistics:
- phonetics,
- morphology,
- syntax,
- semantics,
- pragmatics,
- discourse analysis.
I am more specialised in semantics, and more precisely in formal semantics, but I master the basics of all branches of linguistics, thanks to my academic background. Formal semantics is a discipline that can be a bit scary at first, so I can offer a gentle introduction to it, depending on the student's needs.
My dissertation focuses on deontics and imperatives in French political discourse (halfway between linguistics, communication sciences and political science). I am interested in how French political actors (notably Macron and Castex) 'asked' the French population to respect certain instructions during the covid-19 crisis (barrier gestures, containment, teleworking, etc.) and how they modulated these requests so that the population obeyed them. Therefore, I can also help the student to understand how, given a goal for the speech, it is possible to modulate it to achieve that goal.
Because many linguists work in English, I am also able to give lessons in this language. However, because I am not an English native speaker, those lessons may cost lest.
(I also took courses in Quebec linguistics during my undergraduate year in Montreal, if ever!)
