About Marina

I am confident that my experience and teaching philosophy align well with the goals of your music program. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss how my background and skills can benefit your students. I hold a minor in Spanish and I am also a native speaker, since I am originally from Spain! What a better way to learn than with a native speaker !!

About the lesson

My name is Marina Burguete Diago, a Spanish cellist residing in Houston. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in music performance and a minor in Spanish from Southeastern Louisiana University, Master’s degree in Cello Performance from Florida State University and I am currently pursuing a DMA at the University of Houston.
With over 7 years of teaching experience, I have developed strong skills in both performance and pedagogy. I have taught in Spain, Louisiana, and Florida, offering both private and group lessons to students ranging in age from 4 to 60 years old. My previous roles at the Community Music School at Southeastern Louisiana University and the Thomasville Academy of the Arts in Tallahassee, FL, have provided me with a diverse teaching background. I focus on combining technical proficiency with artistic development, always striving to create a pleasant and engaging learning environment for my students.

I took a couple of intro lessons with her. I used to play the piano when I was a kid and wanted to get into playing a new instrument for a challenge. She was very kind, considerate and VERY patient. She told me a few tricks to make it easier for me as well. I would definitely recommend her!
