I have a degree in Psychology (BSc) and a Masters in Visual Arts and Culture (both from Durham University). I have obtained the ILM-endorsed certificate in Coaching and Mentoring and I have been a coach/mentor for almost three years.

I tailor each session so that it fits each individual's needs. I start with a "chemistry check" session where I find out more about the potential coachee and their reason for requesting a coach, having a conversation about the issue (s) highlighted and finding a starting point for the coaching sessions. The coachee also has the opportunity to ask me any questions and state their preferences in relation to next sessions. Depending on the context and the person, I then use specific coaching tools to explore the highlighted issue more in-depth (often in creative ways, depending on the needs of the coachee). I focus around key questions/themes which the coachee will need to explore in order to come up with their own reflections and ways of moving forward. Each session will be spent setting up the session aim at the beginning, explore various options and themes during the meeting and concluding with specific actions which the coachee will need to complete (if applicable). At the end of each session there will be an opportunity to provide feedback on what is working well and what can be improved for the next session. At the end of our journey I support mentees in creating an action plan (if suitable) and I follow up on how they achieved their goals, offering any additional support/guidance if necessary. This is an overarching structure, but the methods, tools and way of coaching will vary depending on the coachee's needs. I am always open to feedback and communication as I am also learning and improving from each coaching encounter.
