About Stan

I am a Jazz Guitar player, I lead my own bands and write my own music and have played in various venues around the UK. I am also in others' projects as a sideman. I have had some great teachers since I started playing that have helped me get to where I am. Now I aim to do the same as them and inspire the next generation of players below me with teaching.

About the lesson

I typically teach students weekly for 1hr, I find this is the best balance between letting the students practise enough and also being able to give guidance and new things to work on. I like to tailor the lessons to the students - I usually ask people to make a playlist of songs they like and would like to learn in the future and we can work from there. If the student wants to learn how to write I have a comprehensive, yet fun, way to teach theory that will get them started and then they can bring songs to me and we can work on them together. I want to make sure that the lessons are fun and engaging but also efficient and I make sure my students improve at a good rate. I have experience teaching all ages and skills so I'm happy to teach no matter the students experience on guitar.
