About Ryan

I am a qualified architect with an MArch (Distinction) from The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Hong Kong. I offer tailored tutoring sessions for those applying to architecture or interior design courses at university, as well as current undergraduate students seeking support with portfolio development, job applications, or navigating the ARB Part 1 and Part 2 recognition process for international degrees. Tutoring is available in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

About the lesson

Lesson Structure: Our first session will begin by identifying your goals—whether you're preparing for university applications, building your CV, or preparing for ARB part 1/2 examination. From there, we'll create a tailored plan to help you achieve those objectives effectively and confidently. Portfolio Preparation: I’ll guide you through every step of the portfolio process, from idea development and visual storytelling to drawing techniques and graphic layout. Whether you're building on an existing portfolio or starting from scratch, I’ll share practical tips and highlight what makes a portfolio stand out in architectural education. University & ARB Application Support: We’ll review what makes a strong portfolio for university applications. Besides, what is needed for ARB Part 1/2 examinations. I’ll share insights, examples, and strategies to help you present your work professionally and make a compelling case for your application. Software workshops: Tutorials on commonly used software in Architectural education and industry. Rhino (3D Modelling) - Vray (rendering) - Photoshop (photo editing) - InDesign (portfolio design) - Illustrator - (line drawings) - Enscape (rendering) - Revit (industry software)
