About Livia
I have been teaching clarinet since I finished my A Level exams in 2011, and I have always valued highly my teaching alongside my performance career. I've taught in a wide variety of settings from private tuition, to community music schools, peripatetic school teaching and whole class secondary music education. Before becoming a secondary school music teacher in East London I was the lead teacher for wind and brass at Triborough Music Hub in West London where I ran whole class music lessons in primary schools, small group and individual lessons, planned major performances, ran multiple ensembles for young musicians from beginner to advanced. Having taken time off work and moved back to my hometown Cardiff I am excited to be able to take on private students again.

Technical but fun approach to woodwind teaching, during lessons at all levels we will work on sound production, technical exercises (relevant to your level), a piece of repertoire in a variety of genres and duets (a fun way to improve sight reading and develop ensemble skills in a comfortable environment). I work to the level of the student and the speed that they wish to learn at. If a student wants to take graded exams I have experience at all levels of the ABRSM syllabus with a 100% pass rate, though many of my students at all ages do not choose to take exams. In lessons with me you can expect a relaxed friendly environment but with an ambitious approach to personal growth and improvement through playing.
