About Katie
My name is Katie and I just love all of the little lightbulb moments that come with life especially when it comes with the love of music. I have played piano for over 15+ years now, and I love watching others have the same love I have. I specifically adapt my teaching methods to the learner and how they want to learn by adding in Disney music, jazz, classical, etc. The technique and theory will also always be involved so we can learn together how the instrument is properly played.

I always start my first lesson with a get to know you ice breaker to see where we each stand and to see if we will be able to work well together. I say this only because not all students and teachers work well together.
I want to be able to make the lessons fun for the students by teaching them what they want to learn while getting the technique as well.
I was classically trained which was no fun for me and I dreaded each and every lesson as well as the judged events, so for me, I want the student to love learning rather than the hatred of practicing a piece that they get no joy out of it.
