About Jacob

I always loved learning a language, but I truly believe that it can be fun for everyone if you find the right way to learn for your needs. German is a tricky language, but I believe that anyone can make progress with the right support, and I want to be able to provide you with that support to excel in language-learning!

From beginning to learn German at 11 years old, I moved to Berlin 9 years later to work full-time at a German company. The learning tricks and methods that helped me achieve this milestone are exactly what I want to share with my students.

About the lesson

With experience helping students achieve high grades, I am an enthusiastic tutor who is happy to tailor lessons to exactly what you need. Although I have a high level of fluency (C1), I'm not a native speaker - which means I understand what it's like to learn a language, and I'm happy to go at whatever pace suits you best!

These lessons are generally aimed at speakers at levels between A1 and B2 (CEFR).

I have a large amount of educational resources in areas such as speaking, listening, writing and reading that I am happy to work on with you.

We would begin by discussing exactly what you want out of the lessons, and what learning environment best suits your educational preferences. This allows me to structure our sessions directly around your goals to gradually improve your fluency.

Then, we will create a plan of how each week will focus on a different linguistic element.

I'm happy to work through tasks together during the sessions, or structure it as homework that we can then assess and correct together to consolidate your knowledge.

Typical lessons will last an hour, but I am also happy to shorten/extend duration upon preference. Sessions would generally occur once or twice a week, but again, this is up to you and what your goals are.
