About Jackson
I have been studying music theory for more than ten years and just recently earned my Bachelor of Arts in music theory from Vassar College. I’m addition, I served as the music department intern for the last two years, tutoring all music theory and skills students in the department. Through this training, I have learned to love teaching music theory and honed my lessons to be effective and engaging for students.

Sessions may be tailored to your individual needs. I have experience with music students of all levels and am happy to focus on the fundamentals of reading and performing (I myself am a pianist), as well as more advanced analysis and compositional techniques. My experience with tutoring ranges from beginners learning to read sheet music, intermediaries learning part writing and phrase analysis, and more advanced students engaging with whole structures, transformational harmony, and composers in focus.
