About Ella
I am a First-Class French and English graduate from University College London, with a strong academic background in languages, literature and drama. Having achieved grade 9s in French, English Literature and English Language at GCSE, and four A*s in French, English, Drama and my EPQ at A-Level, I understand both the demands of exam preparation and the confidence needed to perform well under pressure.
I want to teach because I enjoy helping students reach the point where difficult material begins to feel clear, manageable and even enjoyable. My aim is to make students feel supported while also giving them the tools to become more independent and assured in their work.
My background in dramatic arts tutoring, including support for LAMDA examinations and play preparation, has shaped the way I teach. I want students to feel that they can ask questions freely, make mistakes productively, and gradually build the skills needed to succeed.
I am patient and organised in my approach, and I tailor my lessons to my students' needs. Whether a student is aiming to improve their grades, prepare for exams, or gain more confidence in the subjects, I aim to provide lessons that are focused, encouraging and genuinely useful.

I offer personalised online tutoring in French and English Literature for GCSE and A-Level students, with a focus on confidence, clarity and strong exam technique.
In French lessons, I help students improve grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking confidence. Having lived in Paris for over five years, I also aim to make the language feel more natural, accessible and less intimidating, especially with preparing for oral exams.
In English Literature, I help students strengthen close reading, essay structure, contextual understanding, and exam responses. Whether a student needs help understanding a text, developing more sophisticated interpretations, or writing more clearly under timed conditions, my aim is to make their ideas sharper and more mark-scheme focused.
Lessons are usually 60 or 90 minutes, depending on the student's age, level and goals.
