About Ruairi

I am a recent graduate from the University of Oxford, living in London. I spent 5 years at Oxford studying Classical languages, literature, history, and philosophy, which I absolutely loved. I am an avid rugby fan, and I am fiercely curious about a range of issues, spanning politics, history, social issues, and religious philosophy and history. I also love travel, and have plans to spend some time living in France to perfect my speaking ability.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching is twofold: firstly, I try to tailor the transfer of information to the needs and requirements of individuals; and secondly, I am passionate about inspiring curiosity, and encouraging others never to stop asking questions or settle for a simple and straightforward answer. I aim not only to share what I think, but to teach others how to think and approach complex questions. I teach 16-18 year olds, typically for an hour, but this is, again, dependent on the goals and needs of each student.

Perfect! I am undertaking a bespoke 12-week ancient Greek history, and a 12-week ancient Roman history program with Ruairi.

He is an absolutely fantastic tutor, providing both depth and dimensionality to his topic which is fully engaging.

Ruairi is considerate, approachable, and I can highly recommend him as a tutor. He is eloquent with his delivery and insightful with his topic material, I have been provided with more than I was expecting when I enrolled on his programme of lessons.

It's been a pleasure to listen to his verbal dexterity, and learn about the seminal facts of ancient western history.
