About Ciara
I’m a graduate of the University of Leeds with a degree in Liberal Arts, majoring in History and minoring in Politics and Theology. Growing up overseas—in Kuwait, China, the UAE, and the UK—I attended international schools and developed a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and learning styles. With two parents in education (a PE teacher and a head teacher), I was raised to value the transformative power of learning. That passion shaped both my academic work—such as my dissertation on colonial education and published research for the UKNC for UNESCO on educational marginalisation—and my practical experience. I’ve taught English to ESL students, supported SEN learners, and worked with children across a range of abilities and backgrounds. I’m patient, thoughtful, and committed to helping students feel empowered and confident. Outside the classroom, I’m an avid reader (with a soft spot for magical realism), a former competitive swimmer, and a netball player. I’m also preparing to begin a master’s in Corporate Communications, Marketing, and PR. Education is not just what I do—it’s who I am.
