Hi, I’m Matt – a tutor with a background in Law and Business, and over 10 years’ experience in education, music, and creative problem-solving. I help A-level Law students cut through the complexity and actually understand how to apply case law in exams.

About the lesson

Most students struggle not with the content itself, but with turning notes into strong exam answers. That’s where I come in. I break cases down into simple, memorable examples and show you exactly how to use them with the IRAC method (Issue, Rule, Application, Conclusion). What I Offer: 1-to-1 tutoring for A-level Law (all exam boards) Clear breakdown of Criminal, Contract, Tort, and Human Rights law Exam-focused lessons – practice with real past paper questions Memorisation tips for key cases without “death by flashcards” Structured 8-session foundation course (covers all core areas) Flexible ongoing sessions for revision, coursework, or essays Example Topics We’ll Cover: • Criminal Law: murder, manslaughter, non-fatal offences & defences • Contract Law: offer, acceptance, consideration, remedies • Tort Law: negligence, occupiers’ liability, nuisance • Human Rights: ECHR, HRA 1998, judicial review • Exam technique: IRAC method, time management, essay structuring Who I Teach: • A-level Law students (all exam boards: AQA, OCR, Eduqas, etc.) • University foundation students who need a grounding in legal principles • Mature learners interested in understanding the law Rates: £25/hr (online via Zoom/Google Meet) Discounted block booking available (e.g. 8 sessions = £180) Teaching Style: I’m approachable, patient, and structured.
