About Taya

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Geographic Information Science (GIS) from the University of Arizona, and I am currently expanding my knowledge with a second Bachelor of Science in Geoscience from Southern New Hampshire University. This educational foundation gives me a unique perspective on social studies, as I understand how geography and physical science directly influence history and human societies. Beyond my academic credentials, I have a professional background that has honed my ability to analyze complex information and present it clearly. My previous service in the U.S. Army National Guard as an intelligence analyst at Fort Huachuca and Fort Sill taught me to quickly process vast amounts of data, identify key patterns, and communicate critical insights. This experience translates directly into our lessons, where I will guide you to not only learn facts but also to think critically and strategically about the topics we cover. We'll use engaging methods like analyzing primary sources, debating different historical perspectives, and connecting past events to current headlines. I will also implement Geography by introducing the world, one continent to another with factbooks and news events.
