About Rhys
My name is Rhys Thorpe, and I am a trumpet and trombone tutor located in Adelaide, South Australia. I have a passion for teaching these instruments as well as playing music more broadly.
In lessons, I keep lessons fun, while also guiding students into a strong fundamental base as well as a passion and sense of musicality themselves.

I am an experienced trumpet tutor, working in primary schools and high schools as well. Currently I hold a bachelor of music -- honours in jazz performance which I achieved first class honours.
I am happy to take on students from all ages, ranging from young children to adult students, of all levels. With students, I can take them through forming a strong fundamental base, working on repertoire, as well as advanced techniques and improvisation.
Lessons with me will usually range from 30 minutes to an hour, with flexibility.
