About Rebecca
I am a native English speaker born and raised in the United States. I have my Bachelor of Arts in Community Health Education from Portland State University. In addition, I am TEFL certified through International TEFL Academy, and I have certificates in other TEFL specializations, including Business English and English for Young Learners. During my practicum, I worked with students from 18 to 50 years of age.
I know that learning another language is incredibly challenging. I have struggled with learning Spanish, German, and Arabic. I take my own experience and approach my students with compassion and understanding.

Whether you have booked a lesson for IELTS, General or Business English, the lesson plan will be catered to your specific needs and goals. Before we embark on this journey together, you will take a placement test that shows me the areas you need to improve on. From there, we will discuss what you would like to work on, and I will develop a curriculum based on your language learning needs.
My teaching method for the IELTS exam is developed around personalized learning and is built upon my own extensive knowledge of the exam. Every student has different needs and abilities when it comes to language learning, so my approach will be tailored to each individual. I can create lesson plans, materials, and homework assignments catering to their strengths and weaknesses.
My lessons are for anyone who needs to improve their English language ability for immigration, work or study purposes. A typical lesson plan will be for 1 hour, and will focus on one area of the exam (or any other topic for General or Business English). The lesson will focus on developing or improving the skills needed to earn a high score or to simply improve your English in general.
