About Cátia

My name is Cátia Caratão, and I was born and raised in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, where I lived for 23 years. Nine years ago, I moved to the UK, and I am currently based in Cambridge, where I work as a Laboratory Manager for a biomedical device company.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I began tutoring English and Portuguese online to learners from a variety of nationalities and backgrounds around the world. This experience, together with growing up with an English-speaking mother who is also a teacher, sparked my passion for teaching and helping others develop their language skills.

Since then, I have embraced every opportunity to support learners in improving their language abilities in a relaxed, encouraging, and motivating environment. I believe that learning a language should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience, where students feel comfortable building their confidence and progressing at their own pace.

About the lesson

Online Portuguese and English lessons for beginners, focusing on essential vocabulary, grammar and everyday conversations. I also offer preparation for beginner-level Portuguese (A1/A2) and English (up to B2) language exams, helping students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

I believe that learning at your own pace in a relaxed, friendly, and supportive environment leads to better results!
