About Lolita

Hi, I’m Lolita — a professional artist and classically trained pianist. Piano was my first musical love; I learned by ear from my family and it became the foundation for everything I do. I’ve performed at venues like Wigmore Hall and St. Martin-in-the-Fields, but what I love most is sharing the magic of piano with beginners. I now offer one-to-one, gentle, creative lessons for all ages, including children with learning difficulties. With 5 years of teaching experience and a deep love for music, I create a calm, supportive space where students can build confidence, explore freely, and enjoy the process. Whether you’re starting from scratch or returning to the keys, I’d love to help you grow your own musical world.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is gentle yet efficient, rooted in breaking things down into clear, digestible sections. I believe that a solid foundation in technique and theory should become second nature — not a barrier, but a bridge — so that each student can fully express themselves through music.

Every lesson is tailored to the individual. I adapt my methods depending on how each student learns best, incorporating a blend of technique, music theory, dexterity, improvisation, scales, and musicality. Whether we’re working through a classical piece, creating something original, or exploring how music makes us feel, I aim to make each session feel both focused and free.

I believe that with encouragement and practice, anyone can learn to play the piano. My own teacher taught me that there’s no one "right" way — at age 10, I completed three grades in a year and auditioned for St. Marylebone School by choosing and adapting a Grade 6 piece. That freedom to explore gave me confidence, and it's a value I bring to my teaching. We set goals, but we don’t stress. We play, we listen, and we grow. Having experienced stage fright and anxiety myself, I understand the emotional side of learning an instrument. For me, piano became a tool to access my mind and emotions — like solving a beautiful puzzle.

It’s not just about skill, but about your senses, your story, and the way you interpret sound. I come from a musical family — my grandfather was a jazz drummer, pianist, and composer — and I carry his belief in the power of listening, feeling, and trusting your ear. My goal is to offer a well-rounded musical education that supports not only skill-building but confidence, joy, and self-expression.
