About Anaemilia Ximena
I am a dance teacher from Lima, Peru. I started teaching at an artistic association where I taught Peruvian Folkloric dances. Eventually, I started creating fusion dance creations using street styles in my creations. I did an undergraduate program in Liberal Arts but I started specializing in Street styles like hip-hop, breaking, and house. I continued studying these styles in Lima, through a dance program. At NYU, I learned the right pedagogical tools to put my knowledge into a better level to give students a high-quality dance education.

I focused on giving the historical context of the dances, scaffolding lessons, and building confidence in their dance. My goal is to give students the necessary dance tools for them to have agency in their dance. By this I mean being able to do their own creations since their knowledge will be good enough for them to do it.
