About Martin
My first experience in tuition was when I was a student, giving tutoring for classmates for the advanced biology course to succeed in A-levels. As a graduate student, I was suggested on the basis of my outstanding study achievements for the support of the "Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes". In addition, I already lead a seminar in microbiology and biochemistry for bachelor students, thus constantly improving the transfer of knowledge. As part of my doctorate, I have regularly supervised master's students in microbiology and molecular biology. In addition, I have brought the enthusiasm for biology to pupils of different age via girls/boys-day events. Corresponding teaching competences have been strengthened by soft skills courses, which trained the modern teaching of (subject) knowledge. Didactic understanding and advice come from my family, which is already characterized by two generations as a teacher for biology and chemistry.

My teaching approach is based on the theme: "guidance to self-learning". I am convinced that learning of a topic will only be successful if this results from an intrinsic motivation. Starting from the current knowledge and the goals of learning I can adapt teaching to the necessary level (school or university) in an individual session or a seminar-like guidance of small groups. Based on my experience in the respective subject areas, I can use relevant examples to make the meaning of a given question visible, which makes it easier for the learner to work out the knowledge under guidance itself, recapitulate and to link it with a reference to the present. Thus, a success story remains beyond the next test, and the learner develops an understanding of the matter and its connections.
