About Freya

Talking in lessons can be hard for some people. Struggling to ask for help becomes a barrier to learning and getting top grades despite potential. One reason pupils can be scared to seek out tutoring is the prospect of having to be on a videocall with a tutor one-on-one. That's why it is my aim to create a style of teaching that is productive for students whose worries relate to the social side of learning. I always struggled to ask for help in class, resulting in difficulty when it came to harder topics. I don't want other people to feel inhibited in the same way I did, so it is my hope to provide help without fear of embarrassment. The learning process can be hard, and failure should not be a barrier to gaining a well-rounded knowledge of computer science. I achieved a strong nine grade at GCSE level less than two years ago, and am currently studying at A* A-Level standard. I am fluent in the Python and C# programming languages, and happy to teach both the programming and theory sides of the GCSE. In my spare time I enjoy programming websites, working on digital design, writing and painting, and playing my guitar. About the lesson

I create lecture-based lessons in a friendly environment, to allow everyone to access help without fear. I provide after-session work for you to consolidate. You can ask for help using either text-based or vocal methods, depending on your preference. I deliver one-off topic lessons, exam cramming for an extra boost just before the GCSE, or longer-term tutoring for those who would like to cover more content. Free Taster Session: • 5 minutes - Introduction • 30 minutes Main content • 5 minutes - Exam-style question • 5 minutes - Consolidation Before the first lesson, you may select a topic you wish to work on and outline your preferred learning style. If you are unsure about areas you wish to cover, I can provide a list of topics and we can discuss your strengths in different areas before selecting one. This free session allows you to see whether I am a suitable teacher for you. Repeat lessons follow a similar structure, but with greater time dedicated to exam-style questions. I will revisit the previous lesson to ensure we don't forget key points. I am happy to adapt however you see fit. Please don't hesitate to send an enquiry across if you are unsure about anything.
