About Hunar
Hi! I'm a sixth-form student and enthusiastic tutor who recently completed my GCSEs, achieving Grade 9s in History, English Language and English Literature, as well as Grade 8s in Maths and Business.
I achieved a Grade 9 in both AQA GCSE English Language and AQA GCSE English Literature, with a particularly strong result of 158/160 in English Literature. Having recently completed the AQA examinations myself, I understand the structure and demands of the specification and can share the revision techniques, exam strategies and approaches that helped me achieve these results.
I offer friendly and supportive tutoring for students aged 9–16. For younger students, I provide SATs support in English and Maths, while for older students I offer KS3 and GCSE support in English Language, English Literature, Maths, History and Business.
For GCSE English students studying AQA, I can help with understanding the specification, analysing texts, developing detailed interpretations, selecting and analysing quotations, essay planning and structure, creative and transactional writing, reading skills and exam technique. I can also help students understand how to develop their answers and work towards the higher mark bands.
My main aim is to build both knowledge and confidence. I create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their own ideas. I adapt lessons to each student's ability and goals, whether they need help with a particular topic, homework, revision, exam technique or simply want to feel more confident.
As I will be starting sixth form in September, I am keeping my tutoring availability limited so that I can balance my studies with providing each student with well-prepared and consistent lessons.
I hold a current Basic DBS certificate and take the safety and wellbeing of my students seriously.

My approach to English tutoring is friendly, patient and tailored to each student's individual needs. Having recently completed my GCSEs, I understand the challenges students can face with English and can explain difficult concepts from a student's perspective.
I achieved a Grade 9 in both GCSE English Language and English Literature. I aim to use the techniques and exam strategies that helped me achieve these grades to help students develop their own skills and become more confident in English.
For students aged 9–11, I offer SATs English support, focusing on reading comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, punctuation and creative or descriptive writing. Lessons can include practice questions, reading activities and guided writing exercises to help students build both their ability and confidence.
For students aged 12–16, I offer KS3 and GCSE English Language and English Literature support. In English Language, I can help with reading analysis, understanding texts, creative and persuasive writing, structure, vocabulary and exam technique. For English Literature, I can support students with analysing characters, themes, quotations and writers' methods, as well as essay planning and developing strong written responses.
I believe that confidence is an important part of succeeding in English. I encourage students to explain their ideas, ask questions and develop their answers rather than simply giving them the solution. I will adapt each lesson to the student's ability, schoolwork and individual goals.
Lessons will typically last 1 hour. I can provide exam-style questions and activities during lessons and suggest practice between sessions where appropriate.
My lessons are aimed at students aged 9–15, from SATs through to GCSE level. I currently have a limited number of regular tutoring spaces alongside my sixth-form studies, allowing me to prepare properly for each student's lessons and give them consistent individual attention.
