About Daniel
Salut, je m'appelle Daniel, et je suis coach en français, chinois, et portuguais.
I’m a language teacher fluent in both English and Portuguese.
I’ve also spent my life studying and tutoring students in Mandarin Chinese and French.
I have extensive experience in both individual, small group, and even large classroom settings, and have developed my own materials and games meant to help learners with varying degrees of fluency improve their pronunciation, increase their vocabulary, solidify tricky grammar structures, and more. I use a plethora of different materials, from songs to book passages, to fast-paced games or free-writing activities. I endeavor to expose students to both the cultural as well as the technical elements of a language. Whether gearing up for a trip abroad or hoping to supplement your Fall courses spent inside, I make lesson plans that suit each student specifically.

As for my qualifications, I majored in Chinese and minored in French during my years as an undergrad student. I also tutored Chinese during my time in college. I taught a 6th grade class Beginner Chinese. Last winter, I traveled to Paris as part of a teaching assistants program, where I taught large classrooms English as a Second Language classes in preparation for their end-of-the-year examinations. In addition, I’ve also worked with students both in-person and over Zoom for about the last three years. I’ve also worked with children as young as eight years old in the past, and adults in their late 60s.
