About Nick

Teaching is my passion -- I did graduate research on Social-Emotional Learning, Mindfulness, and the History of Philosophy.

I'm widely read in the Humanities and have spent over +5 years as a Writing Tutor. In graduate school, I helped MA and PhDs refine their theses and research papers.

I also have +3 years of experience in the classroom, where I've worked with students from the first-grade to junior high.

About the lesson

Hello friends!

My name is Nick and I hold an MA degree from #1 program in the country at the University of Chicago. During my time there I not only conducted my own academic research, but also tutored some of the best and brightest minds!

At UChicago's legendary programs, I studied with some of the world's most famous scholars in the humanities and familiarized myself theory, method, and history.

I have over +5 of experience as a writing tutor for BAs and PhDs. As an undergrad, I was a Philosophy Writing Tutor, where I helped students work through difficult concepts, course material, and edited research papers. In grad school, I was a University Writing Tutor, where I specialized in tutoring the Research Process. I teach writing as a series of manageable tasks or goals -- such as reading and annotating; researching and theses creation; finding sources; and editing & revising. This way, writing becomes a much more enjoyable and approachable process!

I have received several awards and fellowships for my writing and scholarship during my BA and MA. As an undergraduate, I was an Andrew W. Mellon Independent Scholarship, where I received a research grant to complete my Honors Thesis. I was also a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholar, through which I was funded to spend a semester abroad. Finally, during my MA, I was awarded over $20,000 in Fellowships with the Committee on South Asian Thought to conduct research.

I love tutoring students in any Humanities subjects. As a liberal arts graduate, I've taken course work on Plato and Shakespeare, Anthropology and Sociology, PolSci and History, and more! Whatever you need help with, you can be sure I've studied it! I love helping students both work through single assignments or projects, but especially enjoying assisting students make progress over the course of a semester!
