About Herman
ABOUT HERMAN I recorded my first album at home in 2000, using a budget mic and a desktop PC — no studio, no musicians, just me and a sequencer figuring out how recorded sound works. Fast forward to 2023: I conducted my own string arrangement at Jamiroquai's studio in Buckinghamshire and worked on an orchestral film score. That gap between bedroom producer and professional studio is exactly what I help people cross. I'm a multi-instrumentalist and arranger with a classical training background — violin, conducting, orchestration — but I've spent just as many years obsessing over Beatles production, vintage synths, and what makes a great record feel the way it does. I run Really Good Sound, my own studio in Shad Thames, two minutes from Tower Bridge. It's a proper working space: grand piano, full monitoring, instruments everywhere, exposed brick, arched windows. Not a spare room. If you've got a melody in your head, a voice note on your phone, or just a feeling you want to turn into music — that's exactly where we start.

We work in my studio in Shad Thames, or online if you prefer. From the very first session, you'll be making something real — not doing exercises, not watching me demonstrate for an hour. You bring whatever you've got (a hum, a chord, a lyric, nothing at all) and we build from there. I teach using Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and GarageBand depending on what works for you. You'll learn how beats are constructed, how to layer sounds and melodies, how to record a vocal or an instrument, and how to get a mix that actually sounds finished. But more than the technical side, I'll show you how to make decisions — because that's what production really is. My background in orchestral arrangement means I can hear what a track needs and articulate it in a way most producers can't. If your song wants strings, we'll talk about strings. If it wants space, we'll talk about space. Complete beginners are genuinely welcome. So are songwriters who've been sitting on ideas for years and musicians who can play beautifully but have no idea how to translate that into a recording. The first lesson is free — use it to see if this is the right fit.

Amazing musician, lots of experience.
Hi I know Herman since the time that we played together in an Opera House in its symphonic orchestra: he is definitively a great musician and someone who knows both classical and pop world very well. He is passionate about what he does and sure you will get along with him very well. Highly recommendable.
Gustavo EirizHerman is an expert violinist. He speaks multiple languages and his passion inspires you to learn.
Herman is one of the most talented musicians I ever met. Coming from a musicians family, I met him as he's the son of my symphonic percussion teacher. I saw him live playing with different orchestras in Argentina and I played with him several times, therefor I can confirm he has a fantastic ear, musicality, and music recognitiong. And something very impressive for an academic formation musician is that he is also a popular music lover and player. With great and funny personality he will make the lessons very enjoyable. And I'm sure all the students will be happy with his lesson and will learn loads of music with him. Best. Juan
Herman has performed as both conductor and violinist with me in numerous shows and I’m always fascinated by his skills. He is an incredibly warm, and focused musician. There’s a real passion within him and he makes a great teacher. I would recommend him to anyone looking for guidance and learning.
Herman changed the way I listened to music. He gave me a clearer understanding about why I was playing the instrument. He is very profesional and talented.
