About Cory

Hi! My name is Cory, and I am a Software Engineer at Google! I received a full ride to attend the University of Southern California (USC) to study Computer Science and Engineering. I have an academic focus on Mathematics and Physics. My passion for these subjects extends beyond the classroom, as I have been actively involved in tutoring for over five years.

Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a deep understanding of complex mathematical and physical concepts. I have participated in national math and physics competitions in high school, and continue to excel in advanced STEM courses in college. My computer science and engineering studies have further enhanced my problem-solving skills and my ability to think logically and analytically.

As a tutor, my goal is to help students understand the material and instill in them a passion for learning. I believe that any student can perform well in these subjects with the right guidance. I have a patient and empathetic teaching style, and I always tailor my approach to suit the individual needs of each student.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I am an undergraduate researcher at USC. I research the security vulnerabilities of autonomous drones while utilizing machine learning to aid in the process of making them less susceptible to attacks.

I look forward to the opportunity to help students achieve their academic goals and develop a love for learning.

About the lesson

I cater my teaching style to each one of my students and what their preferences are. If they learn visually, I will provide detailed visualizations for each lesson plan. If they learn through application, I will include several problems of varying difficulty. The single unanimous thing I implement with all of my tutee's is communication. I will always ask for feedback, making sure the student understands after explaining something differently. I enjoy seeing all of my students master their subjects! : )
