About Tom
I am a pop/jazz musician living in south-east London. I play keyboards in a number of bands, as well as being a songwriter and music producer. I was very fortunate to have a great music teacher as a kid and I am very excited to try and inspire students in the same way. I am open to all discussions about music, from practice techniques to theory and even music history. My lessons will be fun and easy-going, although I am not afraid to get into the nitty gritty where needed! I have worked with children of all ages and abilities for most of my adult life, alongside being a musician. I am not a classical player, but apart from that I will happily research and facilitate lessons around any musical subject.

I am very experienced with working with kids from age 6-18 (especially in SEN settings, although all abilities are welcome), and I work as a musician. I like to encourage curiosity and creativity, letting the student choose the initial purpose of the lessons and tailoring the teaching to their particular interests. No musical subject is out of bounds! I am very passionate, so I will always endeavor to research and facilitate the students interests to my best ability. This also applies to age/ability - I can simplify things or make them more in-depth according to the specifications of the lesson.
