About Sheriff
I am a fully qualified GMC-registered doctor currently working in the NHS, with experience across a range of specialties including Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Psychiatry and Gastroenterology. Alongside my clinical work, I have spent the past three years mentoring and tutoring students aspiring to study Medicine. I understand firsthand how demanding, competitive and overwhelming the medical school application process can feel. My goal is to make that journey clearer, calmer, and more structured for every student I work with. I’m approachable, patient and highly invested in my students’ progress — many of whom have gone on to secure places at top medical schools. I have a strong interest in communication skills, personal development and effective study strategies, and I bring all of this into my teaching. I also have lived experience working with neurodivergent learners (including ADHD and autism), and I aim to create a supportive, non-judgemental environment where students feel confident asking questions and exploring ideas. Above all, I genuinely enjoy mentoring future medical students and helping them present the strongest, most authentic version of themselves.

My lessons are structured, supportive, and fully tailored to each student’s goals. In the first session, I carry out a light assessment to understand your experience, academic background, strengths, and areas needing improvement. From there, we create a personalised plan covering UCAT strategy, interview preparation, personal statement development, and overall application confidence. I focus on helping students understand not just what to say or do, but why. Medical school applications reward clarity, self-awareness, communication skills, and structured thinking — all of which I teach in a calm, engaging, and confidence-building way. Depending on your needs, lessons may include: UCAT time-management and question breakdown MMI-style interview practice with detailed feedback Personal statement editing and structuring Gaining and reflecting on work experience How to discuss challenges, insight, and motivation effectively How to present yourself authentically and professionally Managing exam anxiety and improving study habits Support for neurodivergent students (ADHD, autism, etc.) Every week we track progress, review strengths, and adjust the plan to keep you steadily improving. My aim is to make the application process feel organised, clear, and much less stressful — while helping you present the strongest version of yourself.
