About Julia

Teaching is a source of immense fulfillment for me, driven by the sheer joy I find in witnessing others grow and excel in the subjects or skills they are passionate about.

There is an indescribable satisfaction in being a catalyst for someone's learning journey, guiding them through the process of acquiring knowledge, and observing their development firsthand.

My motivation lies in fostering a supportive environment where individuals feel empowered to explore, question, and ultimately thrive. Witnessing the spark of understanding in a student's eyes or the glow of accomplishment when they master a concept is incredibly gratifying.

I believe in the transformative power of education, not only for the acquisition of skills and knowledge but also for personal growth and self-discovery. It is a privilege to play a role in someone's educational voyage, offering guidance and encouragement as they navigate challenges and overcome obstacles.

German

As a native German speaker passionate about sharing the richness of my language and culture, I find great joy in teaching German lessons. With a deep understanding of the nuances and intricacies of the language, I strive to create an engaging and immersive learning experience for my students.

My teaching approach goes beyond conventional methods, aiming to instill not only linguistic proficiency but also a profound appreciation for the German way of life. Through a combination of interactive exercises, real-life conversations, and cultural insights, I aim to make the learning process enjoyable and practical.

I believe that language is a gateway to understanding different perspectives, and I am committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Whether my students are beginners or advanced learners, my goal is to empower them to communicate effectively in German and to navigate the linguistic and cultural landscapes with confidence.

Drawing on my personal experiences and cultural background, I integrate authentic materials and anecdotes into my lessons, providing a holistic understanding of the language. My students not only grasp grammar rules and vocabulary but also gain insights into the cultural nuances that shape the German language.

Teaching German is not just a profession for me; it's a way of bridging cultures and fostering connections. Witnessing my students develop their language skills and cultural awareness is incredibly rewarding, and I am dedicated to guiding them on their language-learning journey with enthusiasm and expertise.

I am NOT a professional teacher teaching at a school. However, I was giving private lessons for children between the age of 6-14 for over 5+ years. Besides helping them with their homework and preparing them for exams, I structured lesson for lesson making sure they're making progress every time. It is really important to me to have an interactive lesson, where the students participate a lot, since it is "learning by doing" instead of just explaining everything. My goal is that the students will find the answer to their questions by themselves, with me guiding them.

Furthermore it is very important for me to have an open communication and a safe environment. Students should feel comfortable at any times and feel free to ask as many questions as they want "There is no such thing as a stupid question when learning new things!"

A typical length of a lesson is usually one hour. However the length can vary depending on the teaching content.

I usually structure my lessons as follows:
- Introduction of today's topic & short explanation
- Goal for this lesson "when we leave this lesson today, we..." (ideally working that out together with the students)
- interactive part/doing practices I've prepared before
- Q&A (although this is possible at any time!)
- homework/to do/comprehension tests for the next lesson
