About Veronica

My name is Veronica, from a very German area of Ontario, Canada – we have our own Oktoberfest! From a young age, I have had a love for languages. This led me to earn my Bachelors Degree in Honours German and a Masters Degree in Applied Linguistics. Though I have studied French, Italian, and Spanish, among other languages, German has always been the language I am most passionate about. During my Masters, I began teaching and tutoring German at university, and fell in love with it. Over the past fifteen years I have taught university and adult classes, as well as individual lessons for all age groups.

While studying or working in different parts of Germany, I also travelled as much as possible within German-speaking countries and throughout Europe. Although I speak and teach High German (Hochdeutsch), I am also familiar with many German dialects through travel, study, friends, and family. I travel to Germany and Europe as often as I can to visit family and friends, revisit familiar sites, explore new ones, and immerse myself in language, culture, and history. I absolutely love the German language and its culture!

About the lesson

I am very passionate about teaching and sharing my love and knowledge of German language and culture, as a guide on students’ language journey. German is awesome, but it can be challenging! Especially for native English speakers, I know where we may run into difficulty and why. I am here to help you navigate any challenges or troubles you face and help get you out if you feel stuck. Lessons are tailored to your learning goals and needs, as well as your interests :)

I can help with grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, tips and tricks, conversation and listening comprehension. I enjoy teaching all ages and levels, and helping with this amazing language :)
