About Brianna
Brianna Jolie – Genealogy Researcher & Historian For over 13 years, Brianna Jolie has been devoted to uncovering the rich tapestry of family histories, specializing in genealogical research throughout Upstate New York. Her passion lies in connecting individuals with their ancestral roots, particularly those from Eastern European backgrounds, and preserving the stories that make up our collective heritage. A dedicated researcher and community advocate, Brianna volunteers her time with the Project to Discover Schenectady County’s Eastern European Roots Newsletter, where she contributes articles that shed light on the immigrant experience in New York’s Capital Region. She is also the founder of the Schenectady & Capital Region Eastern European Heritage Facebook Group—a growing community space for individuals to share, learn, and connect around a shared cultural legacy. Her commitment to historical preservation extends beyond her own research. Brianna is an active Find a Grave volunteer and regularly assists with transcription efforts for FamilySearch.org, helping make genealogical records more accessible to the public. Her detailed work and compassionate approach have earned her a reputation as a trusted and knowledgeable resource in the field. Brianna’s academic background further supports her methodical and human-centered approach to genealogy. She holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Human Resources Management and Services from Excelsior College, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University at Buffalo. These degrees complement her genealogical work, equipping her with skills in analysis, communication, and emotional intelligence that enrich each client experience. Whether tracing immigrant journeys through Ellis Island, uncovering forgotten names in Upstate cemeteries, or helping families rediscover their cultural roots, Brianna Jolie brings a deep sense of purpose to every search. Her mission is not just to research history—but to help others feel deeply connected to it.
