About Mirza Amsaar Ahmed

I achieved Grade 9 in Edexcel GCSE Computer Science and now study BSc (Hons) Computer Science, where I have achieved first-class honours across my completed modules and received a University Dean’s Award.

Alongside my studies, I have been selected as a Digital Mentor, helping others develop their digital skills, and have industry experience including developing a machine learning system in the NHS for prostate cancer diagnosis.

Because I have gone through the GCSE Computer Science route myself, I understand both the subject content and what students are expected to demonstrate in assessments.

I can therefore combine GCSE support with university entry/applications guidance, as well as the practical insight from my experience in programming, cybersecurity, cloud computing and modern IT.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed around the student’s current level, exam board and goals. I can teach from the fundamentals — including how computers work, programming logic and problem-solving — through to Python, algorithms, data representation, networks, cybersecurity, databases, HTML and the wider GCSE / IGCSE Computer Science / IT syllabus. The typical length of a lesson is 1 hr.

For students preparing for exams, we can combine topic teaching with past-paper practice, exam technique and identifying weak areas aligned with the specification. For younger students or those who want to go beyond the syllabus, lessons can also include practical programming projects so that Computer Science becomes something they can actually build with rather than simply learn exam topics.

I aim to explain technical ideas from first principles and adapt the pace to the student, whether they are struggling with a particular topic, aiming for a top grade, or starting coding for the first time.
