About Leo
I am currently taking a gap year before I continuing my studies at the University of Warwick. At A Level, I achieved A*AA in Maths, Further Maths, and Psychology.
At GCSE, I took 11 subjects, achieving three nines, six eights, one seven, and one six. This included a 9 in maths, further maths, and English language.
In future, I am interested in teaching at high school level as a profession. I have always enjoyed teaching and seeing the positive effect I can have on other people. I believe that education is a incredibly important, and find that not many people feel the same way, particularly when it comes to STEM based subjects. I would love the opportunity to encourage other people's interest in maths and other STEM subjects.
I have 5 years of experience working with young people in many different roles and environments, each of which required me to have a different set of skills. These roles include tutoring my peers at school, coaching sports, and being a scout and cub young leader. This means I am able to work with people of a wide range of ages and abilities.
On top of this, I have also tutored online and in person previously.
I am currently employed as a teacher for GCSE at a local school and an activity leader at a holiday camp. This means I have an understanding of different teaching methods and am able to adapt to fit a particular person's needs.
Over my time in these roles, I have engaged with people with lots of different needs, including people with autism, ADHD, and other educational needs. While I am not an expert or SEN specialist, I find I am able to engage and connect with the majority of people I meet. Please do not hesitate to contact me about your/ your child's needs as I am happy to discuss what I can do to ensure progress is made.
I am DBS checked and can provide proof of this upon request.

My lessons are aimed at Psychology students from GCSE to A Level who need a little extra help with their studies.
I teach by working through psychological content and identifying issues as they arise. I aim to identify where exactly the student struggles and tackle this directly in a variety of ways, depending on the issue. I aim to encourage confidence, and faith in your own knowledge.
I will typically begin with a past paper where applicable or a question booklet where this is not possible. This will allow the student to improve their exam technique and identify areas of weakness that need to be worked on in more depth.
I tend to do this through covering content and going through questions that increase in difficulty. This allows for understanding of the topic to grow more naturally..
If you know this does not work for you, or it becomes clear to me that it isn't working, adjustments can be made.
A typical lesson will be around 60 minutes; however, I am happy to shorten or lengthen lessons based on student need.

Leo is a tutor that I work closely with, and I can confidently vouch for them, since they are amazing at what they do. They have an incredibly helpful ability in being able to convey complex ideas in ways that can be well understood. I have known Leo for about a year now, and I am also a tutor.
Leo is one of my 6th form maths students and is a fantastic asset to the class. They are always inquisitive and wanting to know the reasons and deeper understanding of topics.
This is why I know they will be able to support others to not only do the maths but actually understand it which is the best way to learn. They are a gifted mathematician with a passion to help others so will be great as a tutor.See more recommendations
