Super Tutor

Jack is one of our best Medicine tutors. High-quality profile, qualifications verified, organised and responsive to lesson requests, and appreciated by their students.

About Jack

I am a biomedical scientist and final year medical student at the University of Queensland. I received my Doctorate in Biomedical Science in 2020, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in respiratory physiology following this. I have held teaching positions at the University of Technology Sydney in a range of 1st-3rd year subjects within the Life Sciences Faculty and 1st year medical student practical rotations in renal and respiratory anatomy and physiology. Classes range from 15-60 students so I am used to teaching in a group environment, but I also have extensive experience with 1 on 1 tutoring also.

About the lesson

I am currently studying Postgraduate Medicine at the University of Queensland and hope I can assist others in their journey into medicine. Prior to my current studies, I had a career in research, where I spent several years improving skills I found to be effective in GAMSAT. As a postdoctoral fellow, I was regularly required to communicate my research to a wide range of audiences, meaning I have honed my skills in scientific communication to both specialized and non-specialized audiences. I have also adapted this skill into my teaching methodology allowing me to simplify concepts for better understanding and continued learning. I don't believe that memorizing content is beneficial in the approach to GAMSAT preparation; instead, I try to break down concepts so students can reach the answers by themselves. Further to this, I have been assisting students with their preparation for Multiple Mini Interviews (MMI) for medical school admissions. Within these sessions, I attempt to simulate examination conditions as best as possible and provide feedback on both form and content of responses.

Jack is a fantastic GAMSAT tutor that will tailor sessions to your needs as a student. He is always punctual for our lessons and has resources pre-prepared to assist my learning. He explains concepts clearly and is a great communicator. Learning Jack's approach to section 2 of the GAMSAT has been illuminating and has changed the way I approach this section for the better. Jack also puts in effort over time, he will frequently mark essays out of hours and is always available to assist with questions during the week. I would recommend Jack to all students looking for a GAMSAT tutor.
