About Fred

I have been working with IT Training and as a professional web developer for many years and with software development and design for more than eight. I worked with executive groups from some of the major companies in the world (Subsea, Petrobras, etc) and have always received great feedback both from the students and the companies I worked for. I have worked with digital design and web development both with private clients and as an employee in London and other cities in the UK as well as in Rio de Janeiro and am looking forward to the opportunity to share this knowledge with others.

About the lesson

Lessons are crafted to help you on what you need. Make your workmates proud of you and become a go-to place for everyone in the office when they need an expert, or get that job in the first place. Long experience helping people improve their careers by giving advice and tips to create confident developers. Can also help with your studies and to get a job. Lessons will preferably be of 2 hours to be able to explain complex subjects and have time for hands-on practice. All levels are welcomed, novices get leverage on fundamental topics and experts are given advice to excel in their careers! Finally demystify hyped concepts like: Components, Source Versioning, Git, Async Development, Promises, mobile first, etc. Some interesting topics: Beginner What is a component-based framework? How do components work? What is React, Vue, Svelte and Angular and what is the right framework for me? What is state? What is JSX and how can it make my life easier? What are props and how should I pass them over? What is bundling? What is Tailwind and Bootstrap? What is SASS? What is a design System? What is an API? How can I create a JS server? And even basics like: how to properly use HTML, CSS and others. And things like these. Intermediary What are possible strategies to manage state on React and other JS frameworks? What is Mobx? In React should I use a Context or pass props on indefinitely? What are pure functions, and pure components? What is Storybook? What are ExpressJS and NestJS? How can I create my own API? Advanced Topics Advanced topics are very diverse and mostly talk about topics in depth and real challenges that a developer will face during their career. It is the difference between learning about a concept and directly applying it on a daily basis. What kind of strategies you can use to overcome common difficulties and the struggles you might have in the future. Some examples might be: How to start working on an unfamiliar codebase. How to use tooling and things like “prettier”, “lint”, etc. What are some possible strategies for deploying. Dealing with latitude and longitude, with images and image processing, code sharing between projects, etc. I do not always have specialist understanding of all these topics, but I will always work hard to give honest explanations and advice. Going Beyond Don't be afraid to bring questions you find difficult to have an answer elsewhere. Especially difficult and edge topics can also be covered but might incur a surcharge due to preparation. If a certain area will really be impractical to be covered, instructions to other expert advice will be given to the best of my ability.
