About Omowunmi

Hello! I’m Rhoda, a finance executive, Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), and MBA graduate with over 15 years of professional experience in accounting, finance and business management.

Throughout my career, I’ve held senior finance leadership positions, including Director of Finance and Vice President of Finance, working across industries such as technology, healthcare, consulting and professional services.

My experience covers financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, business performance analysis and finance transformation. I have also led finance systems implementations and worked with modern technologies, including AI tools that are changing how finance professionals work.

One thing my professional experience has taught me is that understanding the principles behind accounting and finance is just as important as knowing how to perform the calculations. I enjoy making complex concepts easier to understand and connecting what we learn in textbooks to how things work in real businesses.

I understand that everyone starts somewhere. Whether you’re encountering accounting for the first time, studying for an exam, preparing to enter the workforce or developing your professional skills, I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and learning at your own pace.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to help you build a strong understanding of accounting and finance while developing practical skills you can confidently apply in your studies, career or business.

Whether you’re a beginner learning accounting for the first time, a university student looking to strengthen your understanding, a recent graduate preparing for the workplace, or an experienced professional looking to advance your skills, my lessons are tailored to your needs.

What You Can Learn

* Accounting: Financial and management accounting, financial statements, accounting principles, journal entries and practical business applications.
* Microsoft Excel: From essential formulas and functions to advanced Excel, financial analysis, reporting and dashboards.
* Financial Modelling: Building practical financial models, analysing business performance and understanding financial projections.
* Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, KPI reporting and using financial information to support business decisions.
* AI in Finance: Understanding and applying AI tools to improve financial analysis, reporting, forecasting and everyday finance workflows, with appropriate attention to accuracy and responsible use.

My Teaching Approach

I believe effective learning goes beyond memorising concepts. It’s about understanding how things work, why they matter and how to apply them.

My lessons combine clear explanations, practical examples, guided exercises and real-world business scenarios. Drawing on my experience as a finance executive, I connect classroom knowledge with how accounting and finance are applied in organisations.

We will start by understanding your current knowledge, learning goals and areas where you need support. Lessons will then be structured around your level and pace, with opportunities to ask questions, practise and receive constructive feedback.

You don’t need prior finance experience to get started. My goal is to help you develop the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to succeed, wherever you are in your learning journey.
