About Vicki

I am a fully qualified teacher with a sports degree. I love to read and enjoy teaching English and Maths using practical and creative strategies. I like to use real life experiences to help embed core concepts that might be too difficult to understand in a classroom environment.

About the lesson

I am a passionate, hardworking, innovative young professional with a deep appreciation and love for learning. I aim to inspire and motivate young minds, encapsulating their interests and strengths to develop them as a whole. I take my position as a teacher and as a role model very seriously, ensuring that children are given the best chance in their education. In order to unlock each child’s full potential, I adopt the use of learning styles and experiential learning to push cognitive development. I use meaningful strategies to gauge children’s interest and work ethic, providing them with targets to reach. I believe my deep understanding of and extensive experience with children, alongside my depth of subject knowledge in many subjects, particularly PE, and my expertise in SEN, will prove beneficial in adapting my pupils to become self-motivated and resilient individuals. My vision as a teacher is and always will be - to mould pupils into bright, energetic, innovative, positive thinking members of society.
I have proved the aforementioned during my school experiences where I have used my strengths to increase children’s self-confidence, children’s understanding of Mathematical concepts, and challenging misconceptions. My classroom teachers have commented on my passion for teaching, my natural capacity to engage children and my determination to provide quality lessons in a safe, secure environment. I ensure involvement in the ethos of every school I attend and have been thanked for my contribution to the schools’ practice, particularly in denomination schools’. In previous teaching roles I have shown careful assessment in each child’s cognition and used initiative to provide catered lessons that proved beneficial to my pupils’ learning. I have used real life experiences to push children into Greater Depth thinking and provided excellent modelling techniques in a variety of subjects. I presented differentiation for different attainment within my class to ensure progression throughout the classroom. My University lecturers and tutor have praised me on my self-development through improvements in subject knowledge, differentiation, behaviour management and assessment. I adhere to the Teaching Standards and have made excellent progress during my educational career so far and have been commended for being a reflective practitioner.
