About Niall

1. I am highly experienced having taught Economics and Business around the world since 2008 (16 years). 2. I have taught Economics in schools which specialise in delivering academic excellence. 3. I have robust subject knowledge which enables me to practically illustrate key concepts. 4. I understand the importance of embedding exam technique to improve exam outcomes. 5. Examiner experience (OCR & AQA) I can demonstrate the connection of theory learnt and how to apply to different exam questions. 6. My examining expertise ensures I am explicit in describing how theory relates to different exam questions. 7. I understand even the very brightest students can struggle with the higher order skills such as analysis and evaluation. 8. I pride myself on providing concise and practical marking feedback for students to boost grades. 9. I understand the importance of written and verbal feedback for improving knowledge & exam technique. 10. I encourage students to become reflective learners when assessing their work, using exam board marking grids helps illustrate levels of an exam response.

About the lesson

Lessons will vary dependent on student needs. General overview - 1 hour lesson: Knowledge recap - key terms with Kahoot / Quizlet or multiple choice questions. Content understanding - Discussion on key concepts / diagrams. Student live activity - diagram / question planning. Exam technique - exemplar illustration with marking grids or feedback on written work / diagrams. Lessons can be delivered to A Level or GCSE students.

Niall has experience as an OCR examiner which helped me learn how to answer essay questions in the correct way. He also has significant real world knowledge.
