About Orla

I am a fully qualified, registered teacher at both primary and secondary level, first completing a BEd degree in St. Pat’s College, Drumcondra before returning to complete a Master degree, specialising in music composition. Following this I completed the HDipEd in Trinity College, qualifying as a post-Primary teacher. I have also completed further study in the Postgraduate Diploma in Learning Support and Special Education Needs in Trinity College.

I have been teaching music at senior level at a Dublin school for over 15 years and have presented at the PPMTA Leaving Cert Music Easter revision course in Trinity College in 2008 & 2009.

I am passionate about helping every student reach their full potential and committed to making online classes interactive and engaging.

About the lesson

I offer online courses covering the leaving cert music course as a one year intensive course for 6th year students or a two year course suitable for 5th year students who want to study music as an extra subject.

The intensive 6th year classes are an hour and a half in duration, per week, and cover the listening and composition papers as well as the aural skills and technology elements of the practical exam. The course is covered over 30 weeks from September to June.

The two year course is suitable for 5th year students who want to do music as an extra subject. These classes are one hour in duration, per week, and cover the listening and composition papers as well as the aural skills and technology elements of the practical exam.

The online classes are interactive, using a variety of technologies, and material is presented in a variety of ways to suit each student’s unique learning style. I take great pride in creating a comfortable, encouraging and productive learning environment for students while prioritising their progress.
