About
My name is T.J. and I am a native of Philadelphia in the United States. I have been teaching in-person in the classroom for the past six years and language tutoring overall for the past 15 years. I hold a master's and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification. I attended Fordham (BA) and Villanova (MA) universities.
I read often and love all sorts of topics so we will always be able to find a topic to learn English around. I like to primarily teach through conversation, mnemonic hacks, image-word connection, and aim to develop English language fluency in my students.

I am passionate about language and languages. I think its ability to artfully and systematically convey a sense of mutual understanding about reality is so remarkable that it almost feels supernatural. Poetry is a form of communion.
So after years of studying languages like French, Irish, Koine Greek, and others, and then getting my Master's from Villanova University, I decided to get a TEFL Certification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). I now wanted share my own native language, English, with students. I remain motivated by the love and learning language.
I teach mainly through conversation and exploration. I can teach on new English language topics and weak areas as they arise. Some knowledge of English, even a very basic level, is helpful to get us started. Though you will grow quickly surpassing the level with which you start for sure! However, full beginners can message me and we will see what we can do. You can schedule multiple lessons per month or week, as you see fit.
