About Caroline

I am a friendly 25 year old Oxford Graduate. I am now studying Medicine as a graduate student, having received a History BA at Oxford.

I am local Londoner with personal experience of the UK school and university system.

I have experience of tutoring private clients and as a volunteer. I have primarily tutored French and Maths as well as for secondary school entrance exams. I have developed a particular niche in preparing students for their GCSE French oral exams, which many students feel under-prepared for by their group classes at school. I find this a particularly rewarding subject to tutor as great improvements can be made in only a few sessions. I enjoy seeing how students' fear for this exam falls away as they hear themselves improve.

My tutoring approach is to encourage my tutee as much as possible to build up their confidence. In my experience, a virtuous cycle develops once a student has more confidence in a subject: they find it more enjoyable, they apply themselves harder, their grades improve and as a result, their confidence in the subject increases further.

When I am not tutoring, I am usually studying myself! When I am not doing either of these, I like to run, decorate my flat and visit my friends and family.

Caroline taught my 10 year old son French for about a year. When he started with Caroline he was really struggling in class and within 3-4 months he was top of the class. In fact the French teacher thought my son had a real flair for the language.

Apart from teaching him the basics of French, Caroline really instilled one him an interest in the language and belief that he can learn a new language. We had to discontinue the lessons due to our busy schedule and Caroline was also starting university.

However our son still loves his French lessons and continues to do very well in class.

Caroline was very punctual and flexible in terms of changing sessions.
