My name is Nosa, and my approach as a sign language tutor is practical, clear, and student-centered. I believe sign language is best learned by doing, so my teaching focuses heavily on real-life communication rather than memorization alone. I use visual demonstrations, repetition, guided practice, and everyday scenarios to help students understand not just the signs, but the meaning, facial expressions, and body language that bring the language to life.
A typical lesson starts with a short review of previous signs to build confidence and continuity. I then introduce new vocabulary or concepts step by step, demonstrating each sign clearly and explaining its correct use. Students practice immediately through interactive drills, sentence building, and simple conversations. Each lesson ends with practical exercises and feedback to ensure steady progress.
What sets me apart is my over 14+ years of experience as a professional sign language instructor and interpreter. I adapt my lessons to each student’s pace, learning style, and goal, whether they want to communicate with Deaf friends or family, work professionally with Deaf communities, or build a strong foundation for interpretation. I also emphasize cultural awareness, helping students understand Deaf culture alongside the language.
My lessons are suitable for beginners, intermediate learners and advanced students, professionals, educators, parents of Deaf children, and anyone interested in learning American Sign Language for personal or professional reasons.
