About Tracey

I am a friendly and patient tutor with over 22 years of experience working in primary schools, along with four years of full-time tutoring in maths and English.

I have a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and the key skills children need to succeed, including SATs and 11+ preparation. I also have extensive experience supporting children who need extra help to stay in line with age-related expectations.

I enjoy helping children build confidence in their learning and develop a positive attitude towards school. I understand that every child learns differently, and I take the time to adapt my approach to suit their individual needs.

I am particularly passionate about helping children who may be struggling or feeling unsure, and I aim to make lessons calm, encouraging, and rewarding. I enjoy seeing children grow in confidence and make clear progress over time.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each child’s needs. I work with children aged 7–11 in maths and English, helping them build confidence and make steady progress.

In maths, I focus on developing a clear understanding of key skills such as times tables, problem-solving, and reasoning. In English, I support reading comprehension, spelling, grammar, and writing.

I break learning down into simple, manageable steps and use a mix of explanations, practice, and interactive activities to keep lessons enjoyable and effective.

In the first lesson, I take time to understand your child’s current level and any areas they find challenging, so I can create a personalised approach that helps them improve and feel more confident.

I aim to create a calm and positive environment where children feel comfortable asking questions and proud of their progress.

Tracey helps build his confidence by aiming some of the work that he finds easy but also pushes with other work being harder. This helps so he can get answers correct, making him feel good, then pushes him to build his confidence. He trusts Tracey so much that he can't wait for his next lesson, which is really nice to hear.
