About Joni
Hi! I’m a guitar tutor with 4 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in World Music with a focus on Guitar Traditions. My training combines academic study with real playing across metal, shred, and progressive rock. These genres demand strong technique and creativity. I enjoy helping students develop both.
My lessons focus on speed, precision, and clean execution. Technique is built step by step. Students practice alternate picking, legato runs, sweep picking, and tapping. Every exercise has a clear purpose.
I enjoy teaching both young learners and adult students. Everyone brings different goals and influences. Lessons are adjusted to match each student’s musical interests.
Some want powerful rhythm riffs. Others aim for fast and expressive solos. Music theory is always connected to real guitar playing. Students learn how scales and modes shape their sound. Practice becomes focused and exciting. With patience and consistency, complex techniques become achievable. Together we develop confident and powerful guitar skills.

I teach guitar with a focus on lead playing and creative expression. Students learn phrasing, articulation, and melodic shaping to make solos musical. Lessons emphasize intentional note choice rather than random playing.
Improvisation is developed gradually using scales, chord tones, and musical patterns. Blues and rock techniques like bends, vibrato, slides, and hammer-ons are practiced carefully. I teach how small details give solos character and depth. Students also learn to connect phrases naturally.
Some learners enjoy jazz improvisation and harmonic exploration. Others gravitate toward energetic rock and blues solos. I support both paths, helping students refine their individual voice. Technique, creativity, and listening skills grow together in structured lessons. The goal is confident, expressive soloing. Soon, you'll be shredding with confidence.
