About Matthew
Hi, my name is Matthew, I am a first-year student studying at Durham university with a passion for teaching and studying business. I studied business, design and mathematics at A-level achieving A*A*A, and am currently improving my knowledge by completing my degree in business and management. I began tutoring at the start of my degree to aid students seeking to reach their goals of achieving a high grade at GCSE, A-level or undergraduate level. I currently participate in a range of sports including water polo, golf and football and am a drummer in the university's prestigious jazz band.

My lessons are typically around 60 minutes (but can be longer or shorter depending on individual needs) and consist of 4 main sections: 1) A 10-minute introduction to the lesson discussing current difficulties the student is facing as well as progress on revision or practice questions. 2) A starter activity designed to introduce the topic of the lesson and allow me to find strengths and weaknesses. 3) main activity designed to teach or reinforce the student's knowledge around a topic which includes independent and collaborative practice questions to test knowledge. 4) a 5-minute conclusion to the lesson to ask additional questions and discuss future topics to revise in future lessons.
