About Charmar
"A crisp morning in Paris often starts with the sharp rhythm of a native speaker ordering coffee, a sound I have spent 13 years deconstructing through my BA European Languages from ANU. My background as a translator allows me to hear the subtle shifts in French syntax and pronunciation that frequently elude others. I specialize in teaching listening practice and complex writing skills while maintaining a calm, methodical perspective on the grammar rules that define the language. Through working with 155 students, I have refined my ability to clarify even the most difficult accent and intonation patterns for those preparing for immigration or relocation.
You will find that I approach cultural context as a vital layer of the language rather than a simple side note. My teaching relies on the structure I developed during my degree and my professional life in the translation sector, which I present in a way that feels quite straightforward."

"Perhaps the most difficult part of learning French is the gap between knowing the grammar on paper and actually using it in a real conversation. We will start by addressing that disconnect immediately. Since I hold a BA European Languages from ANU, I treat the language as a living tool that requires constant, logical practice. We will move through specific modules on pronunciation and listening practice, ensuring you have the tools to handle DELF and DALF exams with confidence.
One of the ways I track this is through the use of mock DELF papers with detailed feedback, which helps us see exactly where your writing skills need more attention. We can pivot between role play and dialogue practice to ensure you are ready for any situation, whether it involves professional relocation or academic testing. This is not about guessing the correct answer, but about applying the methodical approach I have used for 13 years. There is plenty of space for you to ask questions as we work through these materials together."
