About Alexandra
I am a student at the University of York with a passion for languages and linguistics. I love the grammatical side of languages and most of all I love that they allow us to communicate with people all around the world.
I taught English in Argentina for 4 months to a number of different classes. I was a substitute teacher for 5 classes a week of 15 students aged 15 to 17, I taught the English examination preparation classes, and I did individual tuition and tuition with two students.
I have studied French for many years and have experienced using it in day-to-day life for 6 months when I worked as a translator in Paris. As for Spanish, I had a lot of practice speaking it in Argentina where I was living with Spanish-speaking families for 4 months.

I give classes to A level and GCSE students wanting help with grammar. Maybe your teacher has never explained the grammar in a way that you understand, or given you the time to practice using it - here's your chance to feel confident with grammar and focus on the communicating part of language. I also help with writing/speaking/listening for your own practice or for examinations.
The classes really depend on the student as I will only teach and do activities that will be useful to their individual needs. Depending on what the student needs to get out of the class, I will structure the class with activities in mind, which I will then adapt to each student and their needs/wants, while adding fun and laughs.
I aim to make students feel comfortable enough and brave enough to use an unfamiliar language, make mistakes and then work through them. Hard work and bravery pays off!
